Make a Difference Day 2025
Northwood’s Make a Difference Day brought together residents, youth organizations, civic leaders, and local partners for a meaningful day of service, generosity, and community pride.
Activities included Northwood Jr. Rangers and Cheerleaders participating in a local cancer run, raising funds for research while showing visible support for community members and families affected by cancer. Environmental stewardship was also a major focus, with volunteers planting trees at the Nature Trails tree nursery to support future use throughout the city.
The Northwood Tree Commission donated a tree that was planted at Central Park with the help of the Northwood Student Council, symbolizing growth, partnership, and long-term investment in our public spaces. In addition, Pack 244 built birdhouses that will be installed in Northwood parks, enhancing local wildlife habitats and park amenities.
These efforts were made possible through the generous support of Huntington Bank, whose commitment to "Looking out for people" was clearly reflected in it's corporate sponsorship of this community-wide event. The Northwood CIC also extends sincere appreciation to the Northwood City Council and Mayor for their continued support of community engagement and volunteer-driven initiatives.
Make a Difference Day showcased the strength of Northwood’s partnerships and the positive impact that comes from working together to support people, parks, and the future of our city.
